What is the minimum storage duration?

We offer flexible storage contracts, from short-term requirements through to long-term retention, depending on your specific needs. Get in touch with our team to find the option that works best for you.

What storage capacity do you offer?

With capacity for approximately 1.5 million samples and the flexibility to expand, we support everything from small-scale storage to high-volume requirements. Every client requirement is different, which is why we offer bespoke storage packages, tailored to your materials, volumes, and compliance needs.

Do you provide transport or logistics for samples?

We operate primarily as a storage-only provider, meaning clients can arrange their own courier services. However, support with logistics, shipment coordination, and specialist courier recommendations can be provided where required. For locations within Scotland, we can also provide local transport using our own company vehicles, depending on the nature of your samples.

What happens when my samples arrive at your facility?

On receipt, all materials are checked against the agreed Sample Transfer Protocol (STP), including verification of shipping temperature. Any deviation is immediately reported. Samples are then logged into the tracking system and stored under the appropriate conditions.

How are samples tracked and managed?

Each sample is recorded within an item tracking database, including precise storage location and associated data. This ensures full traceability, clear documentation, and controlled access throughout the storage period.

How do you ensure temperature stability and monitoring?

All storage equipment is continuously monitored for temperature, access events, and alarm conditions. In the event of a deviation, alerts are automatically sent to on-site staff and responsible personnel, ensuring rapid response and full transparency.

Do you offer sample disposal services?

Yes. Biostore UK provides a controlled and compliant route for sample destruction, available to existing storage clients. Disposal is only carried out on explicit client instruction and through licensed processes.
